This month has seen R-TECH Materials invest in the Iosipescu v-notched shear testing fixture from Wyoming Test Fixtures. Due to a recent upsurge in demand for v-notched shear testing from a number of clients, we have decided to add ASTM D5379 to our offering with the aim of getting it UKAS accredited in the new year.

Having already offered interlaminar shear and in-plane shear testing, this fixture would allow R-TECH to carry out true shear testing of composites in all principle directions for the first time. Without having to sub contract this, it means we will be able to offer it at a more cost effective rate for our customers. We will be looking to get this tested added to our UKAS schedule of accredited testing at our next UKAS audit.

In addition to this we have just received confirmation that we have successfully added combined loading compression testing to ASTM D6641M to our schedule of UKAS accredited testing.
